The Commitment
from the Church
The church members have committed themselves to raise £75,000
through direct gifts and to support a loan for £150,000 by
increasing their giving by £1000 a month. This would put the
churches commitment to £225,000 approximately half the cost
of the project We have a number of skilled members of the church
who have committed to take time off their current job to work on
this project within their specialised areas. These include a carpenter,
computer consultant and technician and a builder.
Gifts and Grants from Trusts and
other bodies
We anticipate that certain Charitable Trusts, which exist to support
projects such as this, will be prepared to offer funding by way
of gifts. Other grant-aiding bodies, such as the European Regional
Development Fund and the Welsh Churches Act Fund may also be willing
to provide some support, but this is not expected to be substantial.
To date we have received a £500 grant, a £6000 grant
from South Wales Outreach Trust and the promise of a £15,000
grant once building commences
Other Gifts
It is known that some churches and individuals in the area are willing
to give towards this project. These sources have recently been approached
and as of 1st July, 2005 gifts of approximately £2500 have
been received.
Loan from Stewardship Services
The Stewardship Services Trust provides loans usually up to a maximum
of £150,000 at preferential rates. This would be a cost-effective
way of raising capital on the basis of the value of the existing
site and the covenanted giving.
